Résumé:
There is no doubt is that the application of the institutions of social responsibility in its
comprehensive concept gives the benefit to all stakeholders involved in the internal and external
environmental work. However, the specificity of Small and medium-sized enterprises and the
problems faced by them could hamper the achievement of this benefit, which suppresses the
sustainable development strategy.
Therefore, this study aimed to determine the nature of the practice of Small and medium-sized
enterprises for social responsibility, and this through a multi-dimensional analysis of eight (08)
economic SMEs in different sectors of activity in Chlef city – Algeria. The results of the study
enabled to stand on the level of application of the dimensions of social responsibility by those
institutions, and the extent of orientation for every enterprise to this dimensions. So this allows
detects activation mechanisms of social responsibility in Small and medium-sized enterprises.
