The public space of a city is the subject of several multidisciplinary research in
architecture, town planning, sociology, economics and politics... it has always played a central
role in the structure of the city, as the element founder of the identity of a city.
The presence of public space within cities is essential to the well-being of users,
because its absence presents itself as a phenomenon that must be analyzed.
Indeed, the appeal of a territory also includes the spaces of the city, its heritage, its
services, its local life and its atmosphere. The objective is to attract visitors, tourists,
residents...For its part, the competitiveness of a territory, which is mainly linked to its
production capacity, its productivity, can be evaluated on a broader scale. (Region, nation)
and its target are monetary flows. The main difficulty lies in retaining presences (businesses
and residents) who are not influenced by the same elements.
Like all cities in Algeria; the public spaces of the city of Miliana experience varied use
and suffer from marginalization. The inhabitants of this city feel a lack of this space because
of the absence of specific developments, management, and real attention to this space. The
example Public Garden February 24 (Magenta) and the ramparts of Miliana is a living
witness. So we opted for a study of these two spaces, analyzing these spaces, their locations,
their components and their relationships with urban attractiveness in order to examine the
varied uses.
The objective of this study is thus to know the role of public spaces in urban
attractiveness in the case of the city of Miliana.
By knowing the influence of the spatial organization of this public space of equipment,
urban furniture, vegetation, etc. On the feeling of users, their practice, activities and
attendance within this space, and also knowing its relationship. Our objective is to attract
more people to this space in order to revalorize it in a way that restores its initial role and its
friendly appearance |
