Abstract

This study aims to highlight the importance and necessity of adopting sustainable tourism due to its numerous positive impacts on the environment, society, and the economy. Sustainable tourism garners significant attention as it contributes to achieving a balance between utilizing natural resources and protecting them for future generations. This tourism model has been implemented in national parks because they represent the fundamental dimensions and principles of sustainable tourism. National parks are considered valuable environmental and cultural resources, playing a vital role in preserving biodiversity and ecological balance. These parks provide natural habitats for many plant and animal species, which enhances biodiversity and helps combat climate change. Additionally, national parks contribute to promoting cultural and heritage understanding and appreciation by offering educational and recreational experiences for tourists. To achieve the desired goals of sustainable tourism in national parks, carefully planned and executed policies must be followed. These policies include involving the local community in protection and management efforts, which enhances the collective sense of responsibility towards natural resources and supports the local economy. A case study of the "El Medad" National Park in Theniet El Had demonstrated how to achieve sustainable tourism in these areas. Sustainable infrastructure development was undertaken, in addition to raising environmental awareness and involving the local community in protection and management efforts, to ensure the sustainability of these areas for future generations
