This Master’s thesis investigates the modeling and advanced control of SynRMs to improve their dynamic performance and robustness. A detailed analysis of the motor's structure and its d-q frame model reveals strong flux–torque coupling, which complicates control and necessitates decoupling strategies. A rotor flux-oriented vector control approach is first implemented, yielding satisfactory results under nominal conditions but showing performance degradation under parameter variations. To address these limitations, a PID-based Super-Twisting Sliding Mode Controller (PID-STC) is proposed. This controller integrates robustness, fast dynamic response, and reduced chattering. Simulation results confirm its superiority over conventional PI and classical STC controllers in terms of precision and disturbance rejectionPID Gains-Based Super-Twisting control of a Synchronous Reluctance MachineThesis
