Abstract
This research aims to clarify the extent of adoption of sustainable development by
institutions. The sustainable development includes in addition to the economic dimensions
environmental and social dimensions in response to consciousness of global environmental and social
laws and international policies. The researcher had taken this study on total sustainable performance
levels in a group of Jordanian pharmaceutical companies focused on the environmental and social
dimension which reflects the support to the concept of sustainable development. The study reached a
level of awareness and interest in environmental and social dimensions; this reflects the direction of
those industrial organizations to focus on the environmental and social responsibility.
